Abstract

Im Herbst 2007 und Anfang 2008 wurde eine Evaluierung des Wiener Wissenschafts- und Technologiefonds WWTF durchgeführt. Die wichtigsten Schlussfolgerungen und Empfehlungen sind in diesem Bericht dargestellt. Dem WWTF ist es sehr gut gelungen, eine eigenständige und erfolgreiche Forschungsförderungsorganisation aufzubauen, wettbewerbsfähige, professionelle Prozesse zu etablieren und schon jetzt einen entscheidenden Einfluss auf sorgfältig ausgewählte Bereiche der Wiener Forschungslandschaft zu nehmen. Der WWTF sollte seinen Weg als eigenständige, hochorientierte Fördereinrichtung fortsetzen, um ihre Wirkung auf die Wiener Forschungslandschaft weiter auszubauen.

Abstract (english)

In the autumn of 2007 and early in 2008 an evaluation of the Wiener Wissenschafts- und Technologiefonds WWTF) was conducted. Its main conclusions and recommendations are presented in this report. The WWTF has succeeded remarkably well in building up an independent and successful research funding organisation, in establishing competitive professional processes, and in already having a decisive impact on carefully selected areas of the Viennese research landscape. The WWTF should continue its path as an independent, highly focused funding organisation to further enhance its impact on the Viennese research landscape.
