Abstract

The Innovationscheck programmes (I-Scheck programmes) are SME-oriented grants aimed at encouraging these companies to participate in regular FEI activities, to promote the transfer of knowledge between SMEs and the scientific sector, to support the efficiency and effectiveness of FEI projects, and to bring their results to market maturity more quickly. In the course of the present evaluation, the design and implementation of the two I-check programmes should be analyzed and assessed to what extent they have actually pursued their objectives. Optimization potentials should be revealed and collected experience should be used for further development. In order to fulfill these tasks, a method mix was used. In addition to the analysis of relevant documents, the project team evaluated the FFG monitoring data, as well as in-depth qualitative surveys carried out by companies, research facilities, programme management and the ministries involved (interviews and focus groups).
