Abstract

Abstract (english)

The analysis of possible effects of funded innovation activities on the entire workforce of a company focuses on factors, such as job security, job stability and frequency of job rotation, wages and the structure of employees (eg. apprenticeship training activities) in the company. For the first time a record, coming from FFG and AURELIA data as well as administrative data of the Main Association of Austrian Social Insurance, is being generated. According to the results of the impact analysis, innovation activities cause slight changes in the workforce structure on the enterprise level. Funded companies in the field of innovation tend to engage additional employees, who are more probable to be male than female as well as young and highly skilled people. The new employees appear to stay at the company at least in the medium term, if not longer.
