Abstract
Die Strategie „Innovatives Wien 2020“ (IW2020) ist die zweite Innovationsstrategie der Stadt Wien, sie
wurde in den Jahren 2014-2015 erstellt und definiert drei Ziele:
• Innovationsziel 1 – Wien als Stadt der Chancen: Wien schafft optimale Voraussetzungen, um
das Innovationspotenzial in der Metropolregion zu entfalten.
• Innovationsziel 2 – Innovative Stadtverwaltung: Wien bekennt sich zur Innovationsfreudigkeit
der öffentlichen Hand und zur Rolle der Stadt als Gestalterin, Nachfragerin und Nutzerin
von Innovationen.
• Innovationsziel 3 – Wien als Ort der Begegnung: Wien schafft ein innovatives Milieu und
setzt auf Kooperation und Offenheit.
IW2020 orientiert sich an der Smart City Wien Rahmenstrategie der Stadt Wien, mit folgenden Zielen:
2050 ist Wien „Innovation Leader“ durch Spitzenforschung, starke Wirtschaft und Bildung; bis 2050 ist
Wien eine der fünf großen europäischen Forschungs- und Innovationsmetropolen.
Die vorliegende Evaluierung bezieht sich auf die Erstellungsphase von IW2020 und die ersten drei Jahre
der Umsetzung (2016-2018), sie basiert vor allem auf Interviews, Dokumentenrecherchen und
Workshops.
IW2020 hat im Vergleich zu der vorangehenden Wiener FTI-Strategie von 2007 („Wien denkt Zukunft“)
die Umsetzung in den Fokus gerückt, eine weitere Neuerung ist die Orientierung „nach innen“, also über
das Ziel innovativer Stadtverwaltung bei sich selbst anzusetzen. Ein wichtiges Element der Strategie
wurde die jährlich Innovationskonferenz, bei der Personen aus der Stadtverwaltung und andere
Zielgruppen der Strategie zusammenkommen.
Abstract (english)
The strategy "Innovative Vienna 2020" (IW2020) is the second innovation strategy of the city of Vienna was created in the years 2014-2015 and defines three goals: • Innovation Goal 1 - Vienna as a city of opportunity: Vienna creates optimal conditions for to develop the innovation potential in the metropolitan region. • Innovation Goal 2 - Innovative City Administration: Vienna is committed to innovation the public sector and the role of the city as a designer, customer and user of innovations. • Innovation objective 3 - Vienna as a meeting place: Vienna creates an innovative environment and relies on cooperation and openness. IW2020 is based on the Smart City Vienna Framework Strategy of the City of Vienna, with the following goals: In 2050, Vienna is an innovation leader through cutting-edge research, a strong economy and education. until 2050 Vienna one of the five major European research and innovation metropolises. The present evaluation refers to the creation phase of IW2020 and the first three years the implementation (2016-2018), it is based mainly on interviews, documentary research and Workshops. IW2020 has compared to the previous Vienna RTI strategy of 2007 ("Vienna thinks future") the implementation into focus, another innovation is the orientation "inward", that is about to set the goal of innovative city administration with itself. An important element of the strategy was the annual innovation conference, attended by people from the city administration and others Target groups of the strategy come together.
