Abstract
Um das Wissen darüber zu erweitern, wie die gesellschaftlichen Auswirkungen der Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften (SSH) durch die öffentliche Finanzierung von Forschung und Innovation verbessert werden können, wird ein Prozess zur Entwicklung digitalisierter Instrumente für die inklusive Finanzierung unter Einbeziehung von vier schwedischen Finanzierungsagenturen und einer nicht-geisteswissenschaftlichen Organisation und einer Regierungsorganisation (NGO) von SSH-Forschern geprüft.
Die Agenturen teilten die Herausforderung, ein breiteres Spektrum von SSH-Forschern für die Beantragung ihrer Finanzierung zu gewinnen. Ausschluss- und Einschlussmechanismen wurden in den Interaktionen, Texten und Bildern der Formulierung, Kommunikation und Bearbeitung von Förderaufrufen identifiziert. Die entwickelten Tools leiten den Benutzer digital durch Fragen zur gegenwärtigen und potenziellen Vielfalt der SSH-Vertretung bei Antragstellern, Gutachtern, Mitarbeitern der Agentur usw. sowie zur Formulierung und Kommunikation von Aufforderungstexten, Bewertungskriterien und Anweisungen für Gutachter. Die Instrumente verbessern somit die Wirkung von SSH, indem sie die Mittel verfügbarer machen, zeigen jedoch nicht, wie die konkrete Interaktion mit gesellschaftlichen Akteuren dies verbessern kann.
Abstract (english)
In order to expand the knowledge on how societal impact of social sciences and humanities (SSH) can be enhanced through public funding of research and innovation, a process of designing digitalised tools for inclusive funding is scrutinised, involving four Swedish funding agencies and an Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) of SSH researchers. The agencies shared the challenge to attract a broader range of SSH researchers to apply for their funding. Excluding and including mechanisms were identified in the interactions, texts and images of the formulation, communication and processing of calls for funding. The developed tools digitally guide the user through queries regarding the present and potential diversity of SSH representation among applicants, reviewers, agency staff, etc. and regarding the formulation and communication of call texts, assessment criteria and reviewer instructions. The tools thus enhance SSH impact by making funding more available, but fail to demonstrate how concrete interaction with societal actors may enhance this.
