Abstract
Die Maturierendenbefragung 2024 analysiert die Bildungs- und Berufspläne sowie die damit einhergehende Informations- und Entscheidungssituation von Maturierenden in Österreich. Anknüpfend an die erstmals 2022 durchgeführte Maturierendenbefragung liegt ein besonderer Fokus auf dem Übergang in ein Studium sowie zeitlichen Veränderungen. Die Ergebnisse basieren auf einer Online-Befragung unter Schüler:innen in Maturaklassen von allgemeinbildenden (AHS) und berufsbildenden höheren Schulen (BHS) des Maturajahrganges 2024, durchgeführt vom Institut für Höhere Studien (IHS) im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Forschung (BMBWF). Die Befragung fand zwischen März und Mai 2024, also unmittelbar vor der Matura, statt. Insgesamt stehen rund 6.600 auswertbare Fragebögen zur Verfügung. Die Umfragedaten wurden auf Basis der amtlichen Schulstatistik gewichtet und sind daher entlang der gewichteten Merkmale repräsentativ für den Maturajahrgang 2024.
Abstract (english)
The 2024 school leavers survey analyses the educational and career plans of school leavers in Austria, as well as the information and decision-making situation associated with these plans. Following on from the school leavers survey conducted for the first time in 2022, there is a particular focus on the transition to higher education and changes over time. The results are based on an online survey of students in Matura classes at general education (AHS) and vocational (BHS) secondary schools in the 2024 Matura year, conducted by the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF). The survey took place between March and May 2024, immediately before the school-leaving exams. A total of around 6,600 evaluable questionnaires are available. The survey data was weighted on the basis of official school statistics and is therefore representative of the 2024 school-leaving exam cohort along the weighted characteristics.
